Mission of SAG
As a leading university in Christian higher education, Spring Arbor University (SAU) remains committed to offering a high-quality liberal arts education from a foundation of Christian perspective that originated with its founding in 1873.
Over the past five years, the U.S. Department of Education has engaged in certain inquiries and activities that may threaten SAU student qualification for federal financial aid if the university continues its commitment to Christian faith principles.
In order to offset this potential loss of revenue from student aid, the university, through its supporting entity, the Spring Arbor University Foundation, is embarking upon a “Freedom to Educate” program to secure $300 million in endowment or equivalent sustaining asset value which could substantially mitigate the aforementioned risk to the university’s revenue stream.
To that end, a group of private investors, along with the Spring Arbor University Foundation, established the Spring Arbor Group, LLC (SA Group), a state of Michigan Limited Liability Company.
